Deportivo La Coruna and Real Betis are both reportedly keen on completing a deal for Aston Villa midfielder Carles Gil.

Aston Villa have reportedly received interest from both Deportivo La Coruna and Real Betis for midfielder Carles Gil.

The 24-year-old moved to the West Midlands in 2015, but he has made just 34 appearances in all competitions and is not considered to be a part of Steve Bruce's plans.

Gil spent last season on loan at Deportivo, where he featured on 23 occasions in La Liga, and it appears that they are keen on a reunion.

According to reports in Spain, Deportivo and Real Betis are both willing to pay £2m to take the playmaker back to his homeland, where he has previously represented both Valencia and Elche.

However, while Villa are reportedly in need of funds to boost Bruce's warchest ahead of next season, they want to recoup the £3.2m they paid for him two-and-a-half years ago.

Gil's last appearance for Villa came back in April 2016 when he featured in the 4-0 defeat to Chelsea.
