Sports Mole looks at how Italy could line up in Wednesday's 2022 Finalissima with Argentina.

Long-serving central defender Giorgio Chiellini will make his final appearance for Italy in Wednesday night's 2022 Finalissima with Argentina at Wembley Stadium.

The 37-year-old, who is leaving Juventus this summer, has made 116 appearances for his country and lifted last summer's Euro 2020 trophy, with Roberto Mancini's side overcoming England on penalties.

Chiellini's first cap for Italy came back in 2004, but he will represent his national side for the final time on Wednesday, with the match seeing the European champions face the holders of the Copa America.

Domenico Berardi and Andrea Pinamonti are both out through injury, while Federico Chiesa, Ciro Immobile, Gaetano Castrovilli and Rafael Toloi are also on the sidelines.

Mancini is likely to select a 4-3-3 formation, with Jorginho and Marco Verratti set to feature in central midfield, while there are likely to be spots in attack for Nicolo Zaniolo and Lorenzo Insigne.

There are plenty of options at centre-forward, with Andrea Belotti and Moise Kean among those hoping for starts, but Gianluca Scamacca could get the nod.

Scamacca is yet to score in three appearances for his country but netted 16 Serie A goals for Sassuolo during the 2021-22 campaign.

There are 12 players in the squad looking to make their first appearances for Italy, including 18-year-old Wilfried Gnonto, who was a youngster at Inter Milan before moving to Zurich.

Italy possible starting lineup: Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Emerson; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Zaniolo, Scamacca, Insigne
