Result: Tatjana Schoenmaker completes breaststroke double

South Africa's Tatjana Schoenmaker adds the 100m breastroke title to her 200m gold from earlier in the Games, while England's Sarah Vasey only manages seventh.

South Africa's Tatjana Schoenmaker has won her second gold medal of the 2018 Commonwealth Games with victory in the women's 100m breaststroke final this evening.

Schoenmaker trailed Australia's Georgia Bohl at the turn, but pulled away from the chasing pack during the second half of the race to finish in a time of 1:06.41.

Bohl eventually had to settle for bronze after being pipped to the silver medal by Canadian Kierra Smith, who touched the wall just 0.26s earlier than the home favourite.

England's Sarah Vasey - who won gold in the 50m event - had been in contention at the turn, but the longer distance proved too much for her on this occasion as she faded away to finish seventh.

Wales's Chloe Tutton, winner of bronze in the 200m, finished in fifth place, marginally behind Canada's Faith Knelson.
