England head coach Eddie Jones insists that he has "no doubt" about Billy Vunipola's ability to become the best number eight in world rugby.

New England head coach Eddie Jones has claimed that Billy Vunipola has what it takes to become the best number eight in world rugby.

The Saracens forward helped England get off to a winning start under Jones this afternoon, playing a part in both of his side's tries as they kicked off their Six Nations campaign with a 15-9 win over Scotland at Murrayfield.

Questions had been raised over the mobility of Vunipola in the build-up to the match, but Jones was full of praise for the 23-year-old.

"He wasn't bad was he? I have read all the articles about him being too slow to play number eight. He's doing a pretty good job as a slow number eight," Jones told reporters.

"I thought he was outstanding with his carrying and defence work. He can be the best number eight in the world, I've no doubt about that."

England will continue their Six Nations campaign against Italy in Rome next weekend.
