Christian Benteke made a blunder on Twitter by claiming that he has joined Burnley, despite signing for Crystal Palace this morning.

The Belgium international completed a switch to Palace from Liverpool in a deal thought to be worth an initial £27m rising to £32m.

Once the transfer was announced, the 25-year-old updated his Twitter account listing Burnley as his new club, but he swiftly spotted his mistake.

Benteke tweeted: "Oops my bad lol Yes I signed for cpfc and not burnley. Sorry for the little mistake the person that manages my Twitter got a little confused."

The striker scored 10 goals in 42 games for Liverpool, who signed him last year for £32.5m from Aston Villa.
