Ferrari won't be happy until they start to qualify in pole position.

Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali has insisted that his team won't be satisfied until they start earning pole positions.

Despite Fernando Alonso claiming first place in the European Grand Prix, the Maranello-based outfit were unhappy with the way that qualifying went for its drivers.

Alonso started 11th on the grid while teammate Felipe Massa qualified at 13th after a tactical error by Ferrari, and Domenicali says that he won't be pleased until they earn pole position.

"We will never be happy until we are in pole position. We are fighting to improve the car," said Domenicali.

"We cannot be happy because we are not there at the moment. We need to keep our feet on the ground but this is a very different car from where we started the season."

Alonso added: "In qualifying we were 11th and 13th so we need to work.

"We will have confidence in ourselves and arrive with optimism at every Grand Prix we go to."

Alonso became the first driver to win two races this season.
