Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo confirms that the club have turned down a bid for defender Conor Coady from Sheffield United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that they have turned down a bid from Championship rivals Sheffield United for Conor Coady.

Earlier this week it emerged that the Blades had made a surprise approach for the defender, who has been earmarked as a key part of Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo's plans this season.

Confirming the bid, United boss Chris Wilder had said: "That will be kept between the two clubs. I am not going to talk about the player we have placed a bid for. We like to think we are an ambitious football club."

Speaking at his pre-match presser today, Nuno insisted: "Conor is going to stay with us. Finished."

Following his arrival at Molineux earlier this summer, Nuno has made 11 senior signings, including six defenders.
