Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder reveals that the Blades have made a new bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Darragh Lenihan.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has confirmed that the club have made a new bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Darragh Lenihan.

The 23-year-old centre-back impressed for the former Premier League champions last season, making 44 appearances in all competitions, but could not prevent their relegation to League One.

Wilder, whose side began the new Championship season with a 1-0 win over Brentford, told Sky Sports News: "There is a bid left in with them but there's other players on our radar.

"We notified them and it was their right to either accept or decline the bid, and I don't get precious about other people coming in for our players.

"We come through the front door and we do it the right way, and it's the same about our players. We won't talk about derisory bids or whatever.

"It's business and I think everybody understands that. I think sometimes you just get a little bit precious about it all."

The Blades have signed seven new players this summer - George Baldock, Ched Evans, Enda Stevens, Nathan Thomas, Richard Stearman and John Lundstram, plus Jamal Blackman on loan from Chelsea.
