Wolfsburg have announced the signing of midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski from Borussia Dortmund on a three-year deal.

The Poland international has closed the door on a nine-year spell at Dortmund, where he won two Bundesliga titles, two DFL-Supercups, the DFB-Pokal and reached the final of the 2012-13 Champions League.

Blaszczykowski dropped out of the team last season as he was sent to Fiorentina on loan, but a bout of injury limited his appearances in Serie A.

Now, though, the midfielder has left Dortmund permanently to join German rivals Wolfsburg in a deal costing €5m (£4.2m), according to Kicker.

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs said: "Blaszczykowski is a player that will do any team good. Not only because of his footballing capabilities, but also because he is a model of dedication, commitment and passion and because he gives 100% to his team."

The 30-year-old made 197 league appearances for Dortmund.
