Sunderland have announced the signing of Steven Pienaar on a one-year contract.
It was revealed earlier this month that the 34-year-old, who left Everton on a free transfer at the end of last season, was training with Sunderland with the view to winning a contract for the 2016-17 campaign.
Pienaar has now agreed terms on a permanent deal at the Stadium of Light and the move will see the South African once again link-up with new Black Cats boss David Moyes, who managed the attacker at Everton.

Pienaar, who has also represented Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur, only made six appearances for Everton last season after struggling with a succession of injuries.
