Stoke boss Mark Hughes is pleased with his side's performance during their 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has praised his side for their performance during the 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon.

Gianelli Imbula's first goal for the club was added to by Ibrahim Afellay and Joselu in the second half as Stoke ended a month-long wait for a Premier League victory.

Hughes revealed that his gameplan was to allow Bournemouth to have more of the ball in order to draw the Cherries out and hit them on the break.

"It was a really pleasing away performance, we came here with a good gameplan," he told reporters.

"We were prepared to allow Bournemouth to come on to us a little bit.

"We conceded a bit of possession today, more than we usually do but we felt we could get good opportunities on the break today. With the personnel that we have got we could cause Bournemouth a problem."

The win takes Stoke back into the top half of the table, with just five points now separating them from fifth-placed Manchester United.
