Stoke City and England goalkeeper Jack Butland has confirmed that he has undergone successful surgery on his ankle.
The 23-year-old will miss the rest of the season after he fractured his ankle in the first half of England's 3-2 victory over Germany in Berlin last weekend.
Butland, who became Stoke's first-choice keeper at the start of the season, has accepted that he will not be fit for this summer's European Championships.
On Tuesday night, the shot-stopper underwent surgery and has now vowed to return "better than ever".
He tweeted: "Morning guys, very pleased to say the operation was successful! I'm 3 more screws closer to a walking toolbox! But seriously, this is where the hard work begins! I can't wait to get stuck into recovery and return better than ever!🏼 #BiggerBetter."
