Djokovic, who has won the tournament in each of the last two years, will take on either Australia's Nick Kyrgios or Japan's Kei Nishikori in the final on April 3.

It was Goffin that broke first in the opening set to take a 4-3 lead, but Djokovic answered straight back before ultimately winning the tie-break 7-5 to take control of the contest in Miami.

Goffin continued to serve well in the second, but a break at 3-3 allowed Djokovic to gain control, before the reigning champion held his next two service games to book his spot in the final once again.

Djokovic, who beat Tomas Berdych in the quarter-finals, has now won 22 of his 23 matches in 2016.
