Stoke City manager Mark Hughes says that new signing Wilfried Bony will add a "key element" to his team at the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has admitted that he is hopeful that his side will possess a greater cutting edge in the final third after the arrival of Wilfried Bony.

On the final day of the transfer window, Bony arrived at the Britannia Stadium on a season-long loan deal after falling out of favour at Manchester City.

However, the Ivorian - who has 31 top-flight goals to his name since joining Swansea City in 2013 - has been backed to be a success with the Potters during the rest of the campaign.

Hughes told reporters: "He will add a key element to how we want to play and brings something to the table that we haven't had here for a very long time.

"At times we have been guilty of missing the final end product but I sense that Wilfried will address that."

Bony is expected to make his debut when Stoke host Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
