Rangers complete the signing of midfielder Todd Cantwell from Norwich City on a long-term deal.

Rangers have completed the signing of midfielder Todd Cantwell from Norwich City for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Ibrox and becomes Michael Beale's first signing since taking charge of the club at the end of November.

Cantwell will wear the No.13 shirt at Rangers and leaves Norwich after a near-15 year association with the English club.

Speaking to RangersTV on his arrival at Ibrox, Cantwell said: "I am delighted and I feel very proud. This is obviously a massive football club and I am delighted to get going and to get started.

"This is a massive club and there is a massive responsibility when you sign for Rangers to be the player that the fans want to see.

"They want to see a player that works hard and a player that can win them games which is very important and that is something I am hoping I can bring."

Beale added: "I am extremely happy to welcome Todd to Rangers. He is a player that is fully aligned to our playing style and we believe he will be a key player for the club in the coming seasons.

"I am looking forward to working with him on the pitch this week and integrating him into our fantastic football club."

Sporting Director Ross Wilson continued: "We are delighted to welcome Todd to Rangers. Michael and I have spent a lot of time talking with Todd, and indeed with others about his quality and what he can bring to our squad. We are excited to have him start with the group this week."

Born in Norfolk, Cantwell, joined Norwich's academy at the age of 10 before progressing through the youth ranks and eventually making his professional debut in 2017.

The midfielder went on to make a total of 129 appearances for the Canaries across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists.

Cantwell was an influential figure who helped Norwich win the Championship title in the 2018-19 and 2020-21 campaigns, and he also boasts Premier League experience from the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons.

After being sent out on loan to Bournemouth for the second half of last season, Cantwell has since endured an indifferent spell so far this term and did not feature under Norwich's new boss David Wagner.

The Englishman is now hoping to establish himself as a key player for Glaswegian giants Rangers and he could make his debut for the club when they play host to St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
