Rangers reportedly decide to sack manager Pedro Caixinha after just 27 games in charge.

Rangers have reportedly made the decision to sack manager Pedro Caixinha after just 27 games in charge.

After Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals, Caixinha claimed that his players were embarrassing the Glasgow giants and challenged the squad to respond against Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.

However, Rangers conceded a late goal to draw 1-1, a result which leaves the club in fourth place in the league standings and eight points adrift of leaders Celtic.

Reports suggested that unscheduled talks took place between Caixinha and the Rangers hierarchy on Thursday morning, and according to Sky Sports News, the decision has now been made to remove the Portuguese from his position in the dugout.

During his seven months in charge, Caixinha won on 14 occasions but also suffered eight defeats.
