Manchester United allegedly remain interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani this summer.

Manchester United are reportedly still interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani during this summer's transfer window.

Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the club are in the market for a new striker this summer, with Atalanta BC's Rasmus Hojlund widely believed to be their leading target.

However, Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has suggested that the 20-time English champions might have to pay as much as €100m (£86.6m) in order to sign him during the current window.

Man United are said to be determined not to pay over the odds for the Denmark international and are believed to be willing to switch their attention to Kolo Muani.

According to Football Insider, if a deal for Hojlund cannot be agreed, then the Red Devils will make a move for Kolo Muani, who is also believed to be admired by Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG have allegedly placed Kylian Mbappe up for sale, and an exit for the France international would lead to the capital giants entering the market for a new attacker.

Bayern, though, are thought to be focusing on Harry Kane, with the German champions said to be lining up a third offer for the Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward.

Man United have reportedly already held talks with Kolo Muani's representatives to discuss a potential move to Old Trafford during this summer's transfer window.

However, it is understood that Frankfurt would want at least £80m for the striker, who is one of the most in-demand attackers in European football due to his impressive 2022-23 campaign.

Kolo Muani scored 23 goals and registered 17 assists in 46 appearances at club level last season, including 15 goals and 14 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances.

The forward has also now been capped on nine occasions by France and is expected to be a key part of the team that competes at next summer's European Championship.

Man United terminated Cristiano Ronaldo's contract towards the end of last year and then brought in Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley for the second half of the 2022-23 campaign.

The Netherlands international failed to find the back of the net during a disappointing spell, though, and he will not be returning to Old Trafford for the new season.

Man United had also been heavily linked with Napoli's Victor Osimhen earlier this year, but a deal for the Nigerian this summer is incredibly unlikely due to the cost of a deal.
