Manchester United welcomed Everton to Old Trafford on Sunday knowing that a victory would move them above West Ham United and to within one point of fourth-place Manchester City in the Premier League table.
Both sides had half-chances in the opening 45 minutes, but the pair headed down the tunnel all square at the break.
Man United made the breakthrough early in the second period when Anthony Martial turned home from close range, however, and that strike proved the difference between the two teams.
