Vicente del Bosque unimpressed with Spain in Macedonia

Spain head coach Vicente del Bosque admits that his side did not play well during their 1-0 win in Macedonia.

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has admitted that his team did not play to their potential during the 1-0 win over Macedonia in Euro 2016 qualifying.

An early Tome Pacovski own goal proved decisive as the European champions extended their lead at the top of Group C in Skopje.

"Overall, we didn't play well. Our opponent was very good, focused, solid and intense," Del Bosque told reporters.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was handed a start in Macedonia, despite lacking game time at club level this season, and Del Bosque has insisted that he had no concerns about the stopper being rusty.

"We trust in all of players and, of course, De Gea," he said when quizzed on the player's match fitness.

Spain's win opened up a two-point gap at the top of Group C between themselves and second-placed Slovakia.
