Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with Emre Can regarding a new contract.

The 22-year-old has become an integral part of Jurgen Klopp's team having impressed in the manager's seven months in charge at Anfield.

Can, who joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 for £10m, will be offered a fresh long-term deal with an increase in wages, according to The Mirror.

The report adds that the German international is expected to put to paper on fresh terms before the start of the 2016-17 season.

Can currently has two years remaining on his current deal.
