Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan reportedly agrees to a season-long loan at Burnley.

Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan has reportedly agreed to go on a season-long loan to newly-promoted Burnley.

The 23-year-old - a firm favourite among Reds fans - signed a new four-year deal with Jurgen Klopp's side in March, just two months after returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.

According to The Mirror, Liverpool believe that a season working under Clarets manager Sean Dyche will enable him to return to full fitness and make a push for a regular starting berth.

The newspaper claims that a permanent transfer deal had been on the table but Liverpool were "reluctant" to sanction such a move as they believe he could become a first-team mainstay in the future.

Flanagan has 40 Liverpool appearances to his name since his debut as an 18-year-old in 2011.
