Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for the first leg of Wednesday's Champions League last-16 tie with Inter Milan.

Diogo Jota is likely to be in contention to start for Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Inter Milan on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old did not train on Saturday after sustaining a dead leg but he was fit enough to come off the bench for the final 25 minutes in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Burnley.

Jurgen Klopp stated after the win at Turf Moor that Jota "looks fine", so the Portugal international could replace Roberto Firmino in the first XI, joining Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in a formidable front three.

January signing Luis Diaz, who scored two goals for Porto against Inter's rivals AC Milan in the group stage, will also be in contention to start, though the Colombia international is expected to begin as a substitute.

Joe Gomez, Divock Origi, Curtis Jones and Takumi Minamino, meanwhile, were all left out of last weekend's matchday squad for tactical reasons and it remains to be seen whether they will feature on Wednesday.

Club captain Jordan Henderson was a minor doubt before the win at Burnley, but the 31-year-old was able to start and played 59 minutes at Turf Moor; Henderson is therefore expected to remain in centre-midfield along with Fabinho, with Jones, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, James Milner and Harvey Elliott all fighting for the final spot in the middle of the pitch.

Klopp is unlikely to make any changes to the back four, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson all set to start, shielding goalkeeper Alisson Becker, with the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas to begin on the substitutes' bench.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane
