Claudio Ranieri: 'Leicester City must improve after heavy defeat'

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri believes that his side will benefit from their meeting with Paris Saint-Germain, despite being hammered 4-0 by the French side.

Claudio Ranieri has confessed that Leicester City found life "difficult" against Paris Saint-Germain after seeing his side fall to a 4-0 defeat in Los Angeles.

The Foxes had chances of their own at the StubHub Center but were unable to truly deal with a clinical PSG side more advanced in their pre-season preparations.

Ranieri was keen to take some positives away from the International Champions Cup clash, however, claiming that facing off against the Ligue 1 champions will provide his side with some "good experience" in the long term.

"PSG are a good team that is building to win the Champions League," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "They have a big squad with big players and for our players it was a good experience.

"They are a little ahead of us in their preparation [for the season]. We wanted to press them, but it was difficult. When you go to press and you don't arrive at the right time, they move the ball quickly away from you.

"Maybe if we had scored a goal when we had the chance at the start of the second half, maybe we can change something, but it was a good, good experience. A bad result, but I think we can improve from this defeat."

Leicester, who beat Celtic on penalties in their opening ICC match last week, face Chesterfield and Barcelona in their final two friendlies before taking on Manchester United in the Community Shield.
