Wolverhampton Wanderers' high-profile capture of £20m-rated Benfica attacker Anderson Talisca is "imminent", according to media reports in Portugal.

The 22-year-old Brazilian had been touted for a move to Liverpool earlier this summer but instead opted for a move to the Championship side in what will be a record transfer deal for the division.

Portuguese daily O Jogo claims that Talisca has already signed a deal with the Midlands outfit and is now just awaiting his work permit, which is due to arrive today.

Talisca has reportedly been made to train away from his Benfica teammates in recent days while the final stages of his transfer are completed.

Wolves, who kick off their new season at Rotherham United tomorrow, had been expected to spend heavily in the transfer market following their takeover by wealthy Chinese conglomerate Fosun International last month.

In the last fortnight the new owners have installed Walter Zenga as manager and secured the signings of Silvio, Helder Costa, Joao Teixeira and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.
