Chelsea boss Antonio Conte insists that the Blues remain "on a good path" after returning to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed that he remains pleased with his side's form, despite their defeat to West Ham United at the weekend.

Losing to the Hammers left Chelsea further adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City, but the Blues returned to winning ways on Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory at Huddersfield Town.

Chelsea now sit level on points with second-placed Manchester United - although having played one game more than Jose Mourinho's team - and Conte remains pleased with his effort of his players in recent weeks.

The 48-year-old is quoted by the club's official website as saying: "To win in this way is very important because it improves our confidence, especially after a defeat against West Ham. In the last nine games, Chelsea won seven games, drew one game away against Liverpool, and we lost the last game against West Ham.

"This is a big win. When you play two games away against West Ham and Huddersfield, on paper, I must be honest, you think maybe West Ham will be easier than Huddersfield. Instead we lost against West Ham, and tonight we won against Huddersfield. They are a really good team with a good coach and good organisation. To win away against Huddersfield is not simple. Sometimes we make the situation easier than the expectation.

"We are on a good path in the league, but there is a team in this moment who are very difficult to stop, otherwise we would be fighting for the title with United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool."

Chelsea are next in action when they host Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
