Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti admits that he does not want Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger to return to the Bavarian club at the present time.

Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out the possibility of Bastian Schweinsteiger returning to the Bavarian club this summer.

The 32-year-old World Cup winner faces an uncertain future at Manchester United after being left out of Jose Mourinho's squad for both the pre-season tour of China and Wayne Rooney's testimonial.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had suggested that the door could be open for Schweinsteiger to return to Bayern, a sentiment echoed by club captain Philipp Lahm.

However, Ancelotti told reporters on Wednesday: "In football there is no if. Schweinsteiger is not in our ideas. He was a fantastic player for Bayern, he was a fantastic player for football, but I think that it is not time for him to come back to Munich."

The German midfielder made 342 appearances in all competition for the Bundesliga giants between 2002 and 2015, scoring 45 goals.
