Fernando Torres pleased to end season with a goal

Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres takes to Twitter to reveal his delight after scoring in his team's 2-0 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday night.

Fernando Torres has claimed that scoring in Atletico Madrid's final La Liga game of the season was "the best way possible" to finish the domestic season.

The in-form striker netted his team's opener against Celta Vigo on Saturday evening, before Antoine Griezmann scored a second as Atletico recorded a 2-0 victory at the Vicente Calderon.

Torres, who is in talks with Atletico over a permanent contract, has thanked the club's fans for their "unconditional support" as he looks ahead to the Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 28.

Atletico ended the 2015-16 La Liga season in third place, two points behind second-placed Real Madrid and three behind the champions Barcelona.
