Dani Ceballos 'asks Real Madrid for Real Betis return'

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos reportedly wants to rejoin former club Real Betis despite speculation linking him with a further spell at Arsenal.

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has reportedly informed the La Liga champions of his desire to move back to former club Real Betis.

The midfielder has struggled for game time at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane and spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Arsenal, where he made 37 appearances across all competitions.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has suggested that the Spaniard could come back to the Emirates for the 2020-21 campaign, but according to Mundo Deportivo, Ceballos has his heart set on a return to Betis.

The 24-year-old began his career with Los Verdiblancos and scored seven goals in 105 appearances before signing for Real Madrid in 2017.

While Ceballos could stay with his parent club for the new campaign, the Spaniard is supposedly looking to play as often as possible ahead of the rescheduled European Championships, which could make a return to Betis all the more possible.

Valencia have also been credited with an interest in Ceballos, who has a contract with Los Blancos until 2023.
