Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness plays down claims that the club will sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has distanced the club from reports that they want to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international has been linked with a big-money move away from the Emirates after failing to agree a new deal with the Gunners.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been touted as potential suitors for Sanchez, but now Bayern have played down suggestions that they could make a swoop due to the player's wage demands.

It is believed that Arsenal are willing to pay £250,000-a-week wages to Sanchez, but the attacker wants more.

"The salaries being talked about up front of over €20m (£17.5m) are an amount that definitely isn't feasible for FC Bayern," Hoeness told Bild.

"I'm not involved in operational business. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (chief executive) hasn't approached me, therefore the link with him doesn't seem to be very strong."

Sanchez recently admitted that he has made a decision about his future, but he did not identify where he will be playing his future next season.
