Result: Mark Selby wins World Snooker Championship

Leicester-born Mark Selby wins the World Snooker Championship on the same night that the city's football team clinched the Premier League title.

Around the same time that his hometown club were being crowned Premier League champions last night, Leicester's Mark Selby clinched the World Snooker Championship to secure a double triumph for the East Midlands city.

The 2014 champion led Ding Junhui throughout Sunday and heading into yesterday's final session found himself 14-11 in front.

Ding then reeled off three frames in a row to draw himself level, but Selby soon took control to claim the big prize.

"It is fantastic. It was very special to win it two years ago, but I felt under a lot more pressure now than I did two years ago," the 32-year-old told BBC Sport.

On Leicester's triumph, he added: "To be Premier League champions is a fantastic achievement and I want to say well done to Claudio Ranieri and the boys."

Selby is only the sixth multiple world champion in the Crucible era.
