Former football coach Barry Bennell is found guilty of multiple sexual offences against young boys.

Former football coach Barry Bennell has been found guilty of multiple sexual offences against young boys.

The 64-year-old was convicted of 36 sexual assault charges at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday afternoon, dating back to between 1979 and 1990.

The offences relate to Bennell's time as a coach at Crewe Alexandra, as well as his role as a Manchester City scout.

The court has also asked for more time to consider seven further alleged offences, with deliberations expected to resume on Wednesday morning.

Bennell has previously served three prison sentences in England and America.
