Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Wales could line up for Friday's World Cup 2022 Group B clash with Iran.

Wales boss Robert Page has a number of selection dilemmas ahead of selecting his team for Friday's Group B fixture against Iran.

In their first World Cup game for 64 years, the Dragons came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against USA, responding to a poor showing in the first half before Gareth Bale netted a late penalty.

At the break, Kieffer Moore was introduced as a replacement for Daniel James, and it appears likely that the Bournemouth forward will feature in the starting lineup from the opening whistle.

However, James, with fresh legs at his disposal, may keep his place, with Harry Wilson potentially dropping down to the substitutes' bench with a match against England in mind on Tuesday.

Ethan Ampadu sustained an ankle injury during the closing stages of Monday's opener, and the Chelsea midfielder will be assessed ahead of this game.

Joe Morrell is most likely to be handed an opportunity if no risks are taken on Ampadu, although Joe Allen is pushing to make an appearance after being declared fit following a two-month absence.

Barring any further injury issues, the remainder of the starting lineup could stay the same with goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey justifying his selection between the sticks.

Aaron Ramsey has come through three 90 minutes since November 11, and the Nice midfielder is likely to keep his place given his importance to the team.

Wales possible starting lineup: Hennessey; Mepham, Rodon, Davies; Roberts, Ramsey, Ampadu, Williams; James, Bale; Moore
