Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin says that the Welsh club will take their time in signing a replacement for Ashley Williams.

Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin has said that he is in constant dialogue with chairman Huw Jenkins as they look to sign a replacement for Ashley Williams.

The club's former skipper has left for Everton and although Guidolin has acknowledged that the Welsh outfit need to add an established centre-back to the squad, he has insisted that they will take their time in order to bring in the right player.

The Italian is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I am optimistic about replacing Ash. I speak frequently with the chairman. We haven't rushed.

"I use my experience to work with players chosen by the club, this is my philosophy. But we are working for transfers, we need a central defender."

Despite Williams's departure, Swansea kept a clean sheet on the opening day of the season as they defeated Burnley at Turf Moor.
