Result: Swansea City's struggles continue with goalless draw at home to West Ham United

Swansea City and West Ham United both have their winless runs extended to seven games by holding each other to a goalless draw at the Liberty Stadium.

Managerless Swansea City will be in the Premier League's bottom three at Christmas due to a goalless draw against West Ham United this evening.

It was a cautious start at the Liberty Stadium, with both sides entering the match without a win in their last six games.

Andre Ayew and Mauro Zarate both had half-chances before Ki Sung-Yueng was denied by West Ham keeper Adrian with the first clear-cut opening on 25 minutes.

The Hammers then had a strong spell as Zarate, Mark Noble and James Collins all went close before Ayew hit the side-netting just before half time.

On the hour mark Adrian was tested again as Jack Cork let fly from distance, arrowing a powerful volley towards the corner that the West Ham stopper did well to keep out.

Moments later Swansea had a case for a penalty when Ki's shot was blocked by Collins. The West Ham man writhed on the floor holding his head, but replays showed that the ball was prevented from going goalwards by the defender's outstretched hand.

In the closing stages both sides continued to struggle as Enner Valencia and Gylfi Sigurdsson both failed with long-range attempts.

A point leaves Swansea two from safety after 17 games of the season, while West Ham, who have had three straight goalless draws in the league for the first time ever, sit eighth.
