Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce says that his team are capable of causing an upset to Leicester City's Premier League title charge.

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has insisted that his team are "capable" of inflicting just a fourth defeat in the Premier League on Leicester City this weekend.

The Black Cats are four points from safety with seven games left to play, while Leicester are four wins away from being crowned English champions.

Sunderland were beaten 4-2 by Leicester on the opening day of the season, but Allardyce believes that his team could cause an upset.

"It would only be their fourth defeat," Allardyce told reporters. "Hopefully we can be clinical enough. We are capable of doing it, I feel.

"[Leicester's title challenge is] Roy of the Rovers stuff for those that are old like me who remember Roy of the Rovers. It's a fairytale. After our game, I hope they continue to go on and win. But I hope we can stop them in their tracks first.

"There's a lot more pressure on us than them, there's no doubt about that, with the position we're in. We've been able to handle that pressure very well in performance terms. It's a much bigger game for us than them on the basis of our Premier League status."

Sunderland have recorded draws in their last four league games.
