Harry Kane broke Alan Shearer's 22-year record for Premier League goals scored in a calendar year as the forward netted a hat-trick, while Dele Alli and Son Heung-min also added goals during the second half.
Sofiane Boufal and Dusan Tadic netted consolation efforts for the Saints, but Mauricio Pellegrino's team have now failed to win in seven matches.
