Unai Emery warns Neymar that he "should not fall victim to provocation" again after being sent off for two bookable offences against Marseille.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery has insisted that Neymar is "intelligent" enough to learn from his sending-off against Marseille last weekend.

The Brazil international was given his marching orders in a feisty clash at the Velodrome for two bookable offences, almost costing his side their unbeaten record.

Edinson Cavani picked up the pieces by rescuing a 2-2 draw from pretty much the last kick of the game, though Neymar felt that he was hard done by.

Either way, Emery expects his superstar forward to learn from the dismissal when he returns to action in the Champions League against Anderlecht next week.

"He's an intelligent player, conscious of all that he suffers," he told reporters. "Last Sunday will teach him a lesson. Marseille players pushed him, fouled him. It's important referees control that. But he should not fall victim to the provocation, although I understand players are humans."

Neymar has seven goals and five assists in his first eight Ligue 1 outings since joining from Barcelona for £198m in the summer.
