Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley remains open to selling the Premier League club, despite the collapse of takeover talks with Amanda Staveley-led firm PCP Capital Partners.
On Tuesday, the businessman released a statement via Sky Sports News confirming that a deal has not been struck.
In fact, the Sports Direct owner claimed that discussions with Staveley and her team were a "waste of time", but according to the Chronicle, Ashley is still open to listening to offers from any bidder, as long as the figure is upwards of £300m.
The report claims that the Newcastle owner will turn away any investors who have clauses, including price reduction in the event that the North-East club are relegated.
The publication claims that Staveley and PCP Partners have not withdrawn their offer and remain interested in buying the club.
