Crystal Palace could re-sign Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka before the end of the transfer window, according to a report.

Crystal Palace are reportedly in discussions with Manchester United over the possibility of re-signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka before the end of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old's impressive 2018-19 campaign at Palace convinced Man United to pay in the region of £50m to bring him to Old Trafford, but the defender has found it difficult in Manchester.

Wan-Bissaka has featured on 126 occasions for the club and was first choice during his first two seasons at Old Trafford, but he lost his starting role to Diogo Dalot in the second half of last season.

Dalot has also started the 2022-23 campaign as the first-choice right-back, and there have been claims that the Red Devils could further strengthen that position by bringing in Thomas Meunier from Borussia Dortmund.

Wan-Bissaka has not been involved in either of his side's Premier League games this season, having allegedly been told that he does not figure in Erik ten Hag's plans moving forward.

There have recently been claims that Barcelona are interested in the former England Under-21 international, as the Catalan outfit look to bring a new right-back to the club.

However, according to the Evening Standard, Palace are currently in talks with the 20-time English champions over a possible return for their former youngster.

The report claims that Man United would be open to a loan exit, with the Eagles currently only prepared to pay around £10m to re-sign him a permanent deal.

Wan-Bissaka came through the youth system at Palace and represented their first team on 46 occasions before making the move to Old Trafford.

Man United are working on new signings in the latter stages of the transfer window, with Ten Hag said to be hoping to strengthen five positions before the deadline.

However, the club are also attempting to offload a number of unwanted players, with Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe also among those available for transfer.

Man United are currently bottom of the Premier League table, having lost their opening two matches of the campaign to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.

Ten Hag is allegedly considering dropping club captain Harry Maguire for Monday's clash against Liverpool, with Raphael Varane potentially partnering Lisandro Martinez in the middle of the defence.

Luke Shaw is also under threat from Tyrell Malacia at left-back, with the latter performing impressively off the bench against Brentford last weekend after a difficult first half for Shaw.
