Manchester United will not be signing any Portuguese footballers during the summer transfer window, according to new boss Jose Mourinho.

New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has ruled out the chance of any Portuguese players arriving at Old Trafford this summer.

The Red Devils have been linked with a number of players from Mourinho's homeland, including Andre Gomes, Joao Mario and William Carvalho.

However, speaking at a lecture in Lisbon this afternoon, the 53-year-old ruled out that notion.

"I won't be signing any player from Portugal," he said.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Bebe are the three Portuguese footballers that have previously represented United.
