Manchester United fans slam Andreas Pereira for role in defeat at Bournemouth

Manchester United fans criticise the performance of Andreas Pereira in Saturday's 1-0 loss at Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Manchester United failed to build on their recent impressive run of form as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils entered the clash with Eddie Howe's side off the back of three straight away victories over Partizan Belgrade, Norwich City and Chelsea in three separate competitions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could not pick up a positive result at the Vitality Stadium, though, as a goal from Joshua King on the stroke of the interval saw the Cherries secure all three points.

Andreas Pereira was again selected in the number 10 position for United, with the 23-year-old very much ahead of the likes of Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata when it comes to Solskjaer's first-choice XI.

The Brazil international struggled to make his mark, however, meaning that he has now managed just one assist from 10 Premier League matches at the start of the 2019-20 campaign.

Pereira was replaced by Lingard in the 68th minute of the contest, although the England international also failed to contribute as the Red Devils lost their fourth league defeat of the season.

United were linked with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Paulo Dybala over the summer but neither arrived, and the team's struggles in the area behind the main forward have been there for all to see this season.

The United fans were left furious with Pereira's latest outing as can be seen by the tweets below:
