Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown claims that the Red Devils should move for either Leicester City's James Maddison or Aston Villa's Jack Grealish in January.

Leicester City's James Maddison and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish should be targets for Manchester United during the January transfer window, according to former Red Devils defender Wes Brown.

Maddison has starred for Leicester over the last two seasons, while Grealish has shown this term that he is now ready to play in the Premier League having provided two goals and three assists in 10 outings.

United, despite their recent improvement, are still short in the number 10 position with the likes of Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard all struggling to make their mark this season.

Brown has claimed that either Maddison or Grealish would be perfect for his former club in the role behind the striker.

"In January United need another striker and an attacking midfielder, that little wizard number 10," Brown told 888sport. "I love it because Grealish and Maddison play in their own little way. It's nice to watch and you don't see many English players do that. They have their own style.

"Grealish in the last few games has come on immensely. He can always see the pass. Maddison has always been good and he's a threat getting into the box. These are two young English players who would definitely help the squad."

United will be looking for their fourth straight away victory in all competitions when they travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
