Arsenal's board have identified four positives that could help save Unai Emery's job, according to a report.

Arsenal's board have reportedly identified four positives that could help save Unai Emery's job.

The Spaniard's position as manager with North London club has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks, with the Gunners winning just two of their last nine league games.

However, the Evening Standard reports that the board are reluctant to sack the man they chose to replace Arsene Wenger and they have therefore looked for the bright points from his tenure to date.

Firstly, they are thought to want to avoid being seen as a 'hire and fire' club like their Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United have been in recent years.

Likewise, those in positions of power at Arsenal were reportedly impressed by the Gunners' run to the Europa League final last season, even if it ended in defeat.

Emery's promotion of the club's young talent is also seen as a positive, with Matteo Guendouzi, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli all standing out during the current campaign.

Finally, the board are also believed to be impressed by the way the former Sevilla coach has got Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang playing, with the Gabonese international scoring nine goals in 13 games this season.
