Luke Shaw back in training at Manchester United seven months after leg break

Luke Shaw returns to training with Manchester United for the first time since breaking his leg seven months ago.

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw was on the training pitch at Carrington on Monday for the first time since breaking his leg seven months ago.

The England international suffered a double fracture in his leg as a result of a challenge from Hector Moreno during United's Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion in September.

Today, the club's official website confirmed that Shaw has stepped up his recovery by returning to the training pitch with a physio.

Juan Mata was quick to congratulate his teammate after coming through his first session since suffering the injury.

On Instagram, the Spaniard wrote: "My friend @lukeshaw23 just came in from running out on the pitch! Getting closer."
