Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez will reportedly only be named on the bench for the club's FA Cup semi-final with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has allegedly moved ahead of Alexis Sanchez in the race for a starting role in the FA Cup semi-final with Tottenham Hotspur.

On Wednesday night, Sanchez was dropped to the substitutes' bench for the Premier League fixture with Bournemouth after United had suffered a 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

Rashford was included in the contest on the south coast and impressed as United recorded a 2-0 victory over the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium.

Manager Jose Mourinho has previously spoken about players needing to earn their place in the side for the Wembley showdown with Spurs, and according to The Sun, that stance is likely to lead to Sanchez starting the game on the bench.

Since leaving Arsenal for Old Trafford in January, Sanchez has contributed two goals and three assists in nine outings in the top flight, although all but one of those came in the two matches before the fixture with West Brom.
