England wing Anthony Watson is reportedly facing a six-month spell on the sidelines with a torn achilles.

England and Bath wing Anthony Watson is reportedly expected to be on the treatment table for around six months with a torn achilles.

The 24-year-old suffered the blow during the 34th minute of England's 24-15 defeat to Ireland in Saturday's Six Nations encounter at Twickenham.

According to the Daily Mail, the injury is serious and means that Watson will not be available for selection for the tour of South Africa this summer.

The publication claims that the former London Irish player, who joined Bath in 2013, will need to undergo surgery in order to rectify the problem.

Watson has scored 15 tries in 33 Tests for England.
