Manchester United legend Paul Scholes says that the club should drop Alexis Sanchez for their FA Cup semi-final clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes has declared that manager Jose Mourinho should drop Alexis Sanchez for this weekend's FA Cup semi-final clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

The ex-England international believes that the Red Devils should start the match with Romelu Lukaku playing off Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, with the Chilean benched because his play has been too "predictable".

"I think the big decision is who plays either side of Lukaku," Scholes told BT Sport. "I'd go Rashford and Martial but I think he will probably bring Sanchez back into it.

"I just don't think his form has been good enough. I think he's been quite predictable - we all know the talent he's got.

"Obviously there is a magnificent player in there but at Manchester United he's just not showing it yet. I think Martial and Rashford are better options."

Sanchez has scored two goals and registered three assists since joining United from Arsenal in January.
