Bernardo Silva aims to help Manchester City see off Southampton on the final day of the Premier League campaign to rack up a century of points.

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has admitted that breaking through the 100-points barrier is the one remaining target for his side to achieve.

The Citizens' 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek brought up a number of records, including most goals scored in a single Premier League campaign and most points accrued with 97.

Rather than relaxing against Southampton on the final day of the season, though, Bernardo instead wants to add another victory to the board in order to write his name in City folklore.

"Now we've broken all the records, we want to go for the three digits - 100 points," he told reporters after the Brighton win. "It's something nobody ever did before, and we want to do it.

"It was a very special moment [breaking the record]. We've said a few times, of course we wanted to win the league but if we can win it and break the records it would be even better because you stay in the history of the Premier League.

"We were able to break the win record, the goals and the points. To be part of that is something special and I'm very happy about it. The manager and all the staff told us they wanted it, they said: 'Let's break the records because it will be something special.' And it will be something that maybe in a few years we can still tell our kids and grandkids about."

Chelsea had held the record for most points prior to this week with 95 in the 2004-05 season.
