Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr names a provisional 30-man squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia which features Arsenal's Alex Iwobi and Chelsea's Victor Moses.

Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr has named a provisional 30-man squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, now plying his trade in China with Tianjin Teda, will captain the Super Eagles at the tournament.

The squad features numerous England-based players, including Arsenal's Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses of Chelsea, the Leicester City duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, plus Hull City's Ola Aina.

Uncapped Crotone striker Simeon Nwankwo is a surprise inclusion following an impressive campaign in Serie A which included scoring an overhead kick against champions Juventus.

The Nigerian Super League's leading goalscorer, Junior Lokosa of Kano Pillars, is the only other uncapped player in the 30, which will be cut down to 23 next month following the friendly against England.
