Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum expects Jurgen Klopp to begin rotating his squad during a run of seven games in three weeks after the international break.

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has acknowledged that Jurgen Klopp will need to use his whole squad for their upcoming run of games after the international break.

Klopp has made just one change to his starting lineup in four Premier League games so far this season, while the unbeaten Reds have used only 16 players in that time - second only to Wolverhampton Wanderers as fewest in the top flight.

However, with EFL Cup and Champions League duties beginning this month, Liverpool face a spell of seven games in just three weeks, and Wijnaldum - an ever-present this term - is expecting rotation.

"Not only the big ones, but a lot of games. It's going to be a really important period for us - not only because they're big games, but also because we played a lot of games. I think in these kind of periods you need your whole squad," Wijnaldum told reporters.

"I don't know why everyone was like, 'Oh, tough group' [in the Champions League]. I think every group is tough. We know that Paris Saint-Germain is a good team, we played Napoli already in the pre-season and we won 5-0. But we still know they are a good team and there were situations in that game where there was stuff to deal with.

"We have to do things better, but the result is the most important thing. During the season we have to grow and [when in] this kind of situation [so] the next time you make it less harder for yourself. I think you have to play football in those kind of situations and that has to be improved during the season."

Liverpool have made their best-ever start to a Premier League season this term, winning their opening four games of a top-flight campaign for the first time since 1990-91.
